Evergreen Adventure Therapy, LLC offers a variety of counseling services, including individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. A licensed therapist can meet with you in the office, at a local park, or even on the trails. We believe effective therapy can take place anywhere from an office to a bench by the river.
Adventure Therapy is a modality of therapy that engages clients in the therapeutic process through the intentional use of adventure activities and initiatives. Adventure Therapy is an essential tool for strengthening rapport, building engagement in the therapeutic process and helping clients develop deeper self-awareness and insight.
There are many in office activities and initiatives that are utilized. Outside of the office, activities offered include hiking, orienteering, creeking, walk and talk, sitting outside, and some other activities and initiatives. Everything is always challenge by choice with ongoing, constant consent.
Please complete this form on the home page after clicking 'Get Started'. Your therapist will then reach out and gather more information if needed, clarify anything, gather and confirm insurance coverage, etc. After that, an intake will be scheduled in the office in Beaver or Robinson. The intake is similar to talk therapy intakes, but with a little more information on medical conditions/history/allergies, etc. There will be a total of three sessions (including the intake) in the office before going outside.
If it is just a light rain, and you (the client) have appropriate rain gear and still want to meet outside, we can. If it is thundering, lightning, or a torrential downpour, the session will be moved to the office in Beaver.
If it is safe enough to drive, you (the client) have appropriate winter gear, and still want to meet outside, we can. If there is any chance of ice, Jax will go the day before or earlier in the day to check on the conditions. If safety is a factor, the session will be moved to one of the office locations. (Determined at intake).
Bridgewater Crossing is handicap accessible and has a short distance that leads to a place beside the river. There are also other places in the area that are flat, short distance from parking, and easily accessible.
If using insurance, all sessions must start and end at one of the offices. The Montour Trail is right by the Robinson office and can be utilized as well as walk and talks around the Beaver office. If not using insurance, Moon Park, Olsen Park, Robin Hill Park, Brady's Run, Bridgewater Crossing, Brush Creek Park, North Park, and the Montour Trail can be utilized.
