AEE

AEE (Association for Experiential Education) is the organization that the CCAT (Clinical Certified Adventure Therapist) is through.  The TAPG (Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group) is a subgroup in the AEE that is geared towards mental health professionals.  The AEE is also the organization that puts on a yearly International conference as well as regional conferences.  Jax is involved in both, even sitting on the committee for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference.  To find out more about the AEE and Experiential Education.Adventure Therapy, click the link below.

OBH

 The Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Council strives to improve treatment as stated on their website, 'We commit ourselves individually and collectively to work continuously and sincerely to improve outdoor treatment in our own programs and to share information with our colleagues and to help them with their improvement efforts.'  The OBH website provides information on the council, events, accreditation, as well as research. OBH also puts on yearly conferences.

Nature and Health Alliance

The Nature and Health Alliance (NHA) was established to show and further the benefits of engaging in nature.  NHA has a database of articles and journals, a quarterly newsletter, and conferences.

Outdoor Research Collaborative

 As stated on their site, 'The Outdoor Research Collaborative for Health, Wellbeing and Experiential Engagement (ORC) was created in order to expand and include diverse uses of the outdoors and experiential practice which are not limited to adventure therapy.'  ORC provides resources, conducts research, and partners with collaborators in the field.
